The Chilli Index is an online database and knowledge resource about chilli pepper varieties, including heat ratings, growing data, flavour profiles, and related content. It is provided for general information and educational purposes.

Content on the Site is for general information only and is not professional advice. This includes horticultural, agricultural, nutritional, and health-related information. You should not rely on it as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Chillies can be extremely hot and growing conditions vary. Scoville (SHU) figures are estimates and typically given as ranges; actual heat, yields, and results will vary. Grow, handle, and consume chillies at your own risk, and take appropriate care — especially with superhot varieties and around children, eyes, and skin.

Accuracy of information

We work to keep the information on the Site accurate and up to date, but we make no warranties or guarantees that it is complete, current, or error-free. Variety data, SHU ranges, and growing information are provided “as is”.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to:

• Copy, scrape, or harvest content or data at scale without our written permission.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site, its security, or its underlying infrastructure.
• Use the Site to break the law or infringe the rights of others.

The Site contains affiliate links to third-party retailers (for example, seed suppliers and equipment). If you buy through these links we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Newsletter, waitlist, and products

You can join our newsletter or the Seed to Spice ebook waitlist by submitting your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time. The ebook is not yet on sale; when products become available for purchase, any sale will be subject to separate terms provided at the point of sale.
